- Open Windows Explorer
- Press Alt to display the menu.
- Go to Tools, open Folder Options.
- On the Folder Options (picture below), go to Search tab.
- On What to search, select Always search file names and contents (this might take several minutes).
- Click OK to make the changes.
To begin your search on Windows 7, go to your Windows Explorer, select your folder and type your word on the search box (e.g. "project"), then press enter. This will search the word "project" on the entire project including the part of file name and the contents.
2nd Alternative: Just type "contents:" in the Windows Explorer search box followed by the word, searches text files. If you input "contents: project" on the search box, it will find the word "project" in the file contents on the selected folder, including the sub folders.
