Facebook 'Like' Button 1st Anniversary

Exactly one day after its release, Facebook 'Like' button is now existing in various sites and still continues to be installed on the site every day.

Facebook introduced 'Like' button at the F8 developer conference held on April 21, 2010. Additionally, introduced at the event are Facebook Open Graph and instant personalization.

In the first week of launch, the Facebook 'Like' button is directly spread to approximately 50 thousand sites and that number immediately increased to 100 thousand sites within a month. This amount has not stopped there and growing.

Facebook team said that 10 thousand more sites add 'Like' button everyday, and this growth has not slowed over the last six months.

The giant social networking site also said that currently more than 2.5 million sites have been integrated with Facebook.

Google recently also launched a +1 service which is their answer on the Facebook 'Like' button. A study conducted one month ago by independent reviewer concluded that 'Like' is more beneficial than a tweet.
