Motorolla, Asus, and Acer will migrate to Android 3.1 soon

Google introduced the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) updates on the developer conference I/O in San Fransisco last week. On the event, the first vendor that will support the new Android update is Motorolla Xoom. The first release will be available on Market in June.



The two other leading computer manufacturers, Asus and Acer, has also confirmed their plans to implement the new Android 3.1 on their tablet operating system. The products will also be available on next June. Most of vendors will move quickly to adopt the new platform if they want to exist on the market competition.

Asus has announced its plans to update the Android 3.1 in Asus EeePad Transformer, and also Acer will update the OS to the Acer Iconia 500 tablet.

The user could resize the widgets horizontally or vertically on the new Android 3.1 so that it can display more features.

Additionally, Android 3.1 also improved the interface so that users can perform more multi-tasking functions. Google has done the demo to open 18 applications at the same time on the conference I/O.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Sold Out

iPad probably not the only tablet computer that is easy to lure the consumer interest. Although Asus Eee Pad Transformer does not have big names such as iPad attraction, this Android tablets reportedly sells.


Reported Geek and quoted on Wednesday, 16GB Transformer tablets for $ 399 sold out online at Best Buy on the first day of sale.

Besides Best Buy, other online retailers like Amazon, Wallmart, Newegg and Target reported running out of stock. Retailers in Britain are reportedly experiencing the same thing. And the Asus has released a statement promising to do more shipments in late April or early March.

However, Asus has not officially confirmed this news-related. However, Transformer considered a potential consumer interest. Operating system (OS) Honeycomb Asus embedded in this tablet seems to be the main attraction. Transformer may be the cheapest way to 'taste' special Android OS tablets.

For comparison, Motorola's Xoom it had already been using Honeycomb. However, the price is $800 more expensive berbanderol. Consumers of course are still in doubt, whether Honeycomb really nice and not taking any chances by paying a heavy price.

Another attraction is, of course Transformer look quite steal the show. With the additional docking keyboard, Transformer has added value and differentiate themselves from other tablet product. Best Buy even display ads that are quite provocative, which is making jokes with Transformer reconcile with the iPad.
