Surprisingly Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has also appeared in front of about 6,000 attendees accompanied the Co-CEO of RIM, Mike Lazaridis.

The moment was used by RIM to announce a strategic partnership with Microsoft. The most important announcement is Microsoft Bing will become the default search engine on BlackBerry Playbook tablet that has begun circulating on the market since April 2011. And also with the maps service from Microsoft.

Steve Ballmer said that Bing is not only integrated with Playbook tablets application but also will be fully integrated with the operating system used by the latest BlackBerry smartphone.

By cooperating with Microsoft, RIM does not need to issue a direct investment to complement the features of the devices, especially in terms of internet search engine and digital maps. RIM also ensure Playbook soon be able to run Android applications.

However, RIM is full support for Adobe technologies including Flash.
