Google Chrome Browser uses Internet Explorer's proxy server settings. There is no feature to set another proxy setting like the Mozilla Firefox does. This is not 100% true, the fact is there is no screen or user interface to set the proxy other than default IE proxy until the current version.
Google Chrome Browser has ability to disable the proxy or use different proxy from Internet Explorer by adding parameters on the Google Chrome shortcut.
1. To disable the proxy server, add the parameter: --proxy-server=
Sample: ..\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --proxy-server=
2. To set different proxy, add the proxy after the parameter: --proxy-server="PROXY_ADDRESS"
Sample: ..\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --proxy-server="10.122.5.1:8080"
3. To have a bypass list, add the parameter: --proxy-bypass-list="ADDRESS_LIST"
Sample: ..\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --proxy-bypass-list="*.google.com;127.0.0.1"
The methods above are very useful when we need to separate the corporate proxy with personal proxy, while the Internet Explorer uses for corporate browser and the Google Chrome uses for personal browser.
Perhaps Google has thinking about adding the screen or user interface to separate the proxy from Internet Explorer that enable user to choose whether use IE settings or Chrome settings in the next Google Chrome version.

Google announced Chromebook Laptops
Google announced the Chrome OS in the event Google I/O Conference which bring about 5,000 developers in San Fransisco, United States, on Wednesday (05/11/2011). The laptop that adopt the Chrome OS is namely with Chromebook. On the occasion, Google announced two partner manufacturers, Acer and Samsung, who are ready to release hardware Chromebook. The Chromebook will be available online starting June 15 in the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, and Spain. Other countries will follow a few months away.

Google developed Chrome OS for Tablet
